Where to find your next plant babies in Santa Cruz County

Spring time means spring gardens, and we have so many great garden shops in this county! Here are some we love:
The Garden Company on Mission Street in Santa Cruz carries healthy veggie and herb starts and lots of small bedding plants. Have a question about a plant, or how to use a weird spot in your garden? Excellent customer service and massive gardening experience right here.
San Lorenzo Garden Center is the place to go for bulk veggie starts (right now is the time!), as well as ornamentals, larger plants, and great selection of tools, pots, and irrigation supplies.
If you are up in San Lorenzo Valley, Mountain Feed and Farm Supply is your spot. They have an ever-changing selection of what you need to plant for each season, and the place to find bare-root specialty fruit trees and vines. Plus all the tools you need to preserve the harvest (and classes, too).
If you are on the East Side of town, check out Far West Nursery for tropicals, drought-tolerant and deer-resistant plants, western natives, gopher protection and plant care remedies.
Looking for indoor plants or beautiful pots? DIG Gardens is a sure bet, with shops in midtown and Aptos. They also carry a smaller but beautifully curated selection of outdoor plants and garden decor. If you are downtown, check Botanic and Luxe and Leaf and Vine for gorgeous, healthy house plants.
What are you planting this season?
