While San Francisco and Oakland boast a much denser craft beer scene, the underrated Santa Cruz scene is starting to pick up the pace. For the second year in a row one of our own has made it to the TOP 10 for best beer in the world – Sante Adairius Rustic Ales otherwise known as “Sara”.

Voted the 9th best in the world, Sante Adairius Rustic Ales has put us on the map. You will find tasty rustic ales and my favorite, sours with a Belgian Influence on this menu. Techniques like wine barrel aging mixed with other funky techniques makes this place one of the local favorites. With a midtown location, dog friendly patio and plenty of parking this is a must try while visiting Santa Cruz. And grab a pie at Bookies pizza located inside. Their incredible flavor combination is on par with the unique combinations in their beer. I have never tasted nettle on a pizza and it’s incredibly good. A perfect date night!

 

 

With a dog friendly beer garden and more than a dozen rotating taps, this place has good vibes & good beer. They really do have a midas touch while crafting beer, and they will continue to shock your senses with their incredible combinations and flair palette. Their Socks and Sandals IPA and Supersocks Sour are my favorites. With the newest location, you can now find them in Felton and the Westside Santa Cruz. Boasting that their yeast comes from Ceske Budejovice which is located in the heart of Bohemia that gives their lagers a crisp yet rich flavor found in their pilsners that still set a global standard.
